May 2003 - I’m skeptical of skeptics! “Whatever it is, I’m against it”, a song by the Marx Brothers, should be the theme song of the Skeptics movement. The Unamazing Randi is the “Groucho” of the skeptics, Michael Shermer is the “Chico” of the group, and we’re not sure who the “Harpo” figure is yet. Fraud and deceit are the two biggest wrenches in the skeptic’s tool box. The North Texas Skeptic’s Society show little ethics, and “no regard” to compliance with copyright laws. None of the skeptics can provide us with a list of topics they advocate or denounce, so their positions are very slippery. Therefore, I refer to them as “Horn tooters without a cause!” Or, another way to say it is “weasels without a cause”.

April 2003 - “War is hell!” That is a true statement regardless of which end of the war you are on (the winning end or the losing end). The front page of my local newspaper (of the Knight-Ridder News Service) dated March 30, 2003 reads “the bomb attack was a significant escalation of the guerilla tactics that Iraqi fighters have used against US. and British troops arrayed in Iraqi.”  Now read the entry below to see what significant proof this is regarding the recent fulfillment of quatrain #3-61. One might wonder if “Mabus” was indeed Nostradamus’ allusion to Saddam Hussein. 

March 2003 - The first line of quatrain 3-61 states “the great band and sect of the crusaders will array in Mesopotamia”.  And in addition to quatrain 6-33, this appears to reference a military conflict in Iraq (Mesopotamia is the ancient name of Iraq). “Crusaders” would suggest troops from Christian nations (i.e. Great Britain and the United States).  The United States wasn’t founded until 1776 and was “not” part of the Crusades, however, Great Britain certainly was involved in the Crusades.

When will the attack begin?  Will it be on March 15 (the Ides of March--the day Julius Caesar was back-stabbed to death in Rome), or will it begin in the third or fourth weeks of March?  Whenever it begins, the “shock and awe” of the aerial attack will be overwhelming.  We hope the people of Iraq will “surrender” to Coalition forces and help to create a new and better life for themselves.  It has to be better than needlessly dying for Saddam.

Will war be avoided? Probably not.

January 2003 - What will happen in Iraq and the Middle East in 2003? It appears that a war in Iraq is imminent. There is a “chance” that war might be averted, but that appears to be like a “snowball’s chances in Hades”.

If war occurs, Iraqi resistance will be strong at first, then mass surrenders will be common among Saddam Hussein’s military forces.

Secretly, the Iraqi people are sick of Saddam- (especially his black uniformed police forces) and they fervently wish for true liberty. If liberation is what they seek, they may very well find it soon. If the Iraq seek self destruction, scorn, and martyrdom, they may choose to attack Israel. Could this lead to a larger regional conflict? That is entirely possible.

Based on our informal poll, 86% of our readers think that war in Iraq will certainly occur very soon. In the Book Excerpt section of this web site you can read Victor Baines’ interpretation of Quatrain 6-33 which he thinks pertains to the Gulf War of 1991. However, considering that often “history repeats itself”, Victor Baines is ahead of the times so to speak in forecasting trouble in Iraq.

November/December 2002 - In 2003 we will be celebrating Nostradamus’ 500th birthday with a special newsletter for our members, (and perhaps other things too). So become a member of the Society today.

September 2002 - The HBO series “The Sopranos” mentioned Nostradamus during the opening episode of their 2002 season. Hey, thanks guys!

Victor Baines appeared on the Discovery Channel in September and October in the program titled “ Nostradamus - A Skeptical Inquiry”. Mr. Baines set the record straight on several issues of interest and made several points about our future. American author John Hogue also made an appearance, as did British author Peter Lemusier.

The difference between myself and a skeptic, is that I don’t walk around with a box named “science” wrapped around my head, obstructing my perception of the real world.   I have a 360 degree view of reality, free from the constraints of the closed minded world of science (where people have no faith in anything other than the scientific method).

I want to thank Nasrodin, publisher of Nostradamus Magazine in Paris, France, for including an interview with me as an article in the second edition of his new magazine.  I wish him the best of luck.

April  - I had an excellent time during my adventure in Provence (a beautiful southern region of France). I saw the cities of Avignon, Salon, St. Remy, Marseilles, and some other coastal towns on the Mediterranean Sea. France is a beautiful country indeed, and its citizens are friendly and courteous.

While attending the conference in St. Remy, I had the honor of meeting Mrs. Jacqueline Allemand (director of the Nostradamus Museum in Salon), Mr. Peter Lemesurier (author of the Nostradamus Encyclopedia), Mr. Michel Chomarat (biographer, publisher, and esteemed expert on the texts of Nostradamus), Mr. Pirmamod Nasrodin (a publisher of mystical subjects), and some other interesting people as well.

I want to give an "extra thank you" to Mr. Hocine Touhami. Hocine is a French travel agent who is involved with Program France (the promotion of travel to the coastal region of Provence). Hocine is a very thoughtful and courteous gentleman who possesses great knowledge about European travel. March  - I was invited to participate in a debate at the prestigious campus of Yale University. The issue which was debated was whether or not Nostradamus was an "accurate predictor of the future".

I took the position of an advocate of the issue, and my opponent Mr. Jack Latona took the opposing position. The result of the debate (as well as an interview with me) can be seen this September on the Discovery Channel. If you choose to tune-in this fall, I can assure you that you will witness "high intellectual drama" (in an authentic environment).

New York - Washington - Pennsylvania Terrorist Attacks of  9-11

September 2001 - What we feared most, an attack on America, finally happened. We are shocked and saddened (but not surprised). May God bless the innocent victims and their families in this time of trouble.

Since 1997, we have tried to warn the world about the potential arrival of "a man of great evil, from east of the Black Sea, who will terrorize the West". Osama bin Laden seems to fit the definition quite nicely.

Quatrain 10-72 states "from the sky will come the great king of terror". Well, in our opinion, this certainly appears to reference the "terror from the sky" unleashed by terrorists in New York City, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania, on the morning of September 11, 2001.

In our opinion, Nostradamus' phrase, "the great king of terror" is a perfect description of Osama bin Laden, ( the world's notorious terrorist ). Therefore, it appears that Nostradamus' prophecies have come true once again. Yes, the evil one is here.

Quatrain # 6-97 states "at 45 degrees, the sky will burn, fire approaches the great new city. Instantly, a huge scattered flame leaps up." Well, New York's northern boundary is at 45 degrees of latitude! And the phrase, "the great new city" is a rather clear and obvious allusion to New York City! In the mind of author Victor Baines, it was clear enough that this is what Nostradamus meant by "the great new city" (although most Nostradamus authors failed to figure that out).

On page 23 his book "Remember the Future" Victor Baines predicted that New York City would take a direct hit during a Muslim/Christian conflict. And he was right! Click here at the top of this page to read Victors prediction about an attack on New York City.

Quatrain # 10-74 states "it appears at the time of the games of slaughter, not far from the age of the great millennium, when the buried shall come out of their tombs". This suggests a great slaughter of people, near the change of the millennium, resulting in dead being buried, and later untombed. This appears to reference the terrorists events in New York City on September 11th. In another quatrain, Nostradamus states "the barbarian fights wearing a black headdress.“

As fate would have it, the Taliban wear black headdresses'.
