THE 9 - 11 PROPHECY The arrival of July, 1999, was a highly anticipated event by everyone familiar with the prophecies of Nostradamus. Would it be the arrival of Nostradamus' so-called third Antichrist? Would a huge global war occur, or would nothing significant happen in 1999? All of these questions were fair to ask ourselves.
In the year 1999, in the seventh month (suggesting July, although the French word 'sept' might suggest the abbreviation for the English word September), from the sky (suggesting an aerial event, perhaps through means of aircraft, missiles or something else) will come the great (as in powerful) King of Terror (suggesting an unnamed leader of a nation who possess a powerful military, probably a foe of Europe and the West), bringing back to life (rebirthing) the great King of the Mongols (Genghiz Khan was the Mongolian king who conquered Asia in the 13th century, thus an Asian military leader seems to be suggested by this phrase). Before and after (some accident or military event in July of 1999), Mars (the symbolic planet of war in astrology) to reign by good fortune" (war appears to reign fortunate for an unnamed nation, or group of nations, "before and after" July of 1999).
The tragic events of 9-11 were truly foreshadowed here. Presently, we use the Gregorian calendar. But during Nostradamus’ lifetime they used the Julian Calendar. The seventh month on the Julian Calendar is September. The date 1999 provides a time clue of an event around the millennial change. However, the real clue is that the date 1999 is nothing more than a numeric anagram. If we reverse the order of the “1”s and “9”s, we arrive at the date 9-11-1 (the date of the 9-11 attacks).
It is obvious that Osama bin Laden is the “great king of terror who comes from the sky”. Regarding the “great king if the Mongols”, Kabul was the capital of the Mongol Empire during Nostradamus’ lifetime, so it appears that we have an additional symbolic reference to bin Laden here. In summation, this quatrain provided an “astonishing preview” of 9-11!
